Dear Teacher:

Welcome to the Professional World consists of many general ideas and guidelines. The best way to make use of the book as a textbook will vary by the age level of the students. Younger students might do well answering the following "Worksheet" questions. More advanced students might prefer the essay-formatted "Written Exercises" in the back. Some of the "Worksheet" questions would work as test questions, but most seem to work better as a questionnaire for students to respond to as they read through the related chapters.

I sometimes ask my students to simply write one-page reaction papers for each of the chapters. These tend to reveal evidence of how much they read and thought about the material, and I often get amusing comments and feedback (much of which has been incorporated into the book over the years). Responses can include critical opinions, ideas for specific additions, observations of how they might use which ideas, etc.
